Inspired by Lucas Samaras and others I began experimenting with Polaroid SX-70 manipulations. I would take an image then quickly apply heat using a lighter, thereupon I would have about 30 minutes to use burnishing tools to rework the emulsion. The process was immediate and irrevocable. I found it a refreshing re-thinking of the ephemeral permanency of the photographic process.
There was no going back.
